This is a university outreach experience report that describes challenges and learnings arising from the migration of actions to the remote format in an outreach project during the Covid-19 pandemic, which, until then, took place onsite at two Early Childhood Education Centers. Videos on health, education and citizenship were produced for children, parents and nursery teachers, which address the demands identified by the principals in joint planning and evaluation meetings. In this process, challenges arose inherent in the search for computing tools, appropriation of their operationalizations, development of verbal and non-verbal communications, use of clear language and synthesis capacity. Our results revealed that both the onsite outreach actions and those occurring remotely have common pillars, which include the dedication of teachers and students. Communication technologies were seen to be relevant, however, people who develop and establish flows are essential so that the outreach activities really fulfill their role.
